Leonard Nimoy – Mr. Spock of “Star Trek” dies at 83

Leonard Nimoy who played Mr. Spock on “Star Trek” has passed away at age 83.  He suffered from late stage Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Not only was he known for his Spock character but he also had a tie to the Transformer community. In the 1986 animated Transformers: The Movie  he voice the reincarnation of Megatron – “Galvatron”.  More recently he voiced the character “Sentinel Prime” in the 2011 blockbuster  “Transformers: Dark of the Moon”

The Transformers connection doesnt end there.  Mr. Nimoy is married to Susan Bay (Nimoy) who is the cousin of Transformers director Michael Bay.

One thing that comes to mind when I think of Leonard Nimoy is the “Ballad of Bilbo Baggins”  – a song he recorded in the late 1960’s.

Leonard Nimoy has acted in, directed, and played many different characters in his career.  He will forever be known as Mr. Spock.  The world suffered a great loss.  We send out our thoughts and prayers to his family, friends, and peers.
